Oil industry

The olive has always played an important role in the village, as shown by the two old ruined factories. However, these are not the only remains of this industry. Others can be seen when you walk through the village, in the courtyards of the houses. These are old jars which contain olive oil. These amphorae are easily recognizable by their shape and striations. Today, they have lost their original use and are used as flowerpots and are sometimes broken or cut in two for this purpose.

In addition, the cultivation of olives continues in the village. The inhabitants have the habit of gathering together to pick olives from the trees in the public spaces (school and main road). They spread large nets on the ground and store the olives in large bags before taking them to local factories. The olives are no longer processed on the spot as before, but this is a village activity.
