Since the mid-twentieth century, many interventions have taken place around the old houses. The latter have been enlarged and extensions have multiplied.
There are two different types of extensions. The extensions that were built next to the houses and those that were built a few meters away, often accessible from the terrace. The latter contained the first toilets and sometimes the shower and kitchen. Today these annexes have been attached by successive extensions and are blended into the urban fabric. Most of these extensions are on one level and have a flat roof, which differentiates them from the old houses with double-sloped roofs.
It is also noticeable that a majority of these extensions are built to the south, on the side of the house entrances. Part of their roofs have also been converted into terraces.
